COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We have dived back into the history books as inspiration for this one. Six different malts give a depth to this beer, which is hopped at five stages of the brewing process to allow the character of the noble hop varieties to shine through.

Cask at evening star
Very dark brown with roasted barley nose. Full bodied, complex coffee and chocolate flavour with complex toasty finish, no sign of booze. Lovely complex porter, slight sourness and licorice in finish. Hope they bottle it!

Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival in KEGS! Pretty much opaque dark brown beer, bubbly pale tan head. Palate is fairly smooth. Juicy dark malts, nice fruity note in good balance. Mellow unsweet dark chocolate. Finishes smooth with the dark chocolate bitterish in the aftertaste. Nice tangy fruits in this one.

Cask at Akkurat. Pours dark brown with a light tan head. Lovely smooth brew, taste of milk chocolate and bitter cacao. Big taste but yet a balanced porter and not too hevy.

Scopey (3243) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 2, 2013
Cask at The George, Croydon. It pours near black with a small beige head. The nose is roasted malt, coffee, earth, dark caramel and faint smoke. The taste is roasted malt, liquorice, earth, salt, coffee, good level of bitterness and a touch of dark fruit with a dry, roasty finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Good depth of flavour. A tasty, robust porter.
