COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Regular.
The yeast strain used for the brewing of the pale, dry American Ales is specially imported from the USA, along with Cascade and Centennial hops, to produce this pale ale. The low colour Maris Otter malt provides a perfect light colour and dryness to complement the crisp taste and full aroma of the hops.

Pint pulled at the Sussex Ox at Milton Street (in East Sussex), a very clear pale amber topped with a rocky white foam. Floral aroma with hints of blackcurrant. Maybe served a bit cold, but still smooth through the mouth and a floral flavour with a touch of honey for me.

Casked. Golden colour, mediumsized white bubbly head, which lasts long. Sweet fruity aroma with caramellish hints. Flavour sweet fruity with enormous hoppiness. Also some oaky and spicy hints there. Wellbalanced and pleasant cask, smooth palate.

UPDATED: OCT 8, 2007 Cask : The Evening Star, Brighton. Another light hoppy beer with a twist on the classic IPA combination of variaties. I think they use an American hop variaty(and a very pale malt) that definbatly comes throught to distingwish it from other PAs, I or A

I couldn’t believe this beer wasn’t on here. Well....... Darkstar are not afraid to experiment and they do it well. How do they get that Darkstar taste? This is pretty damn hoppy but really sweet. A classic, grapefruity, straw coloured (colored in the u.s.), aromatic, pale beer. Far too sweet for some palates but this makes it what it is. Had it at the Wenlock in early ’05 so I just know from this alone that nothing was wrong with it. Possibly seasonal but would love to see it again. and drink it!

Pale golden colour. Grassy hops, gooseberry leaves and cats pee aroma. Strongly herbaceous. Big pine resin flavour. Lots of grapefruit too. This beer is about the hops and its a pretty convincing rendition of the style. Cask (handpump), Wenlock Arms, February 2005.

UPDATED: AUG 8, 2008 Cask at Reading Beer Fest with chris_o and duff. Golden colour, reallly hoppy , citrusy nose. Tart lemon citrus fruit flavour that grows towards the finish which is dry, juicy, lemony and hoppy 4.4 Re-rate, oooh which shall I pick? Bottled fresh from the Butcher’s Arms in Herne. I had had a full day on the Saturday and bought a 2 litre bottle of this to take home. Therefore on the Sunday I wasn’t really feeling like a beer, and then I had to have this to make sure it didn’t go off. The grapefruit hop is outstanding and never let down or unbalanced by the malt. The two move together beautifully. A stunning APA

Hand pulled at the Wellington, Birmingham. Very pale, very hoppy. Slick and icey in it’s crisp, hoppy, clean but full flavour. Mint, grapefruit - with a smidge of sweetness. Raging, fiery finish, with dry malt - a typically English touch. Great beer - you could drink buckets of this.

Cask at the Wenlock Arms, not too far from Old Street station, London.. With Chris_o, joet, Duff & Kook. Pale gold with little head. Aroma is at first sulphuric and eggy but later on is heavy on the citrus fruit. Crisp, clean lighty malty pale beer with U.S. hops (Cascades?) and some citric/piney qualities. With a hint of sweetness.
