ruggedman (416), Portland, Maine, USA Jul 21, 2008 Well it’s very drinkable! Had on cask at Novare Res in Portland, ME. I was very intrigued by the idea of the English emulating an American Pale. This stuff had a nice smooth mouthfeel, pretty bland aromas as far as hops go...i smelled a hint of citrus hop aroma, but it was still a little covered. The flavor is a little meager on the hop front too. It tastes almost like somone just combined an English pale and sierra Nevada like 50/50 and called it good. I could yard a dozen of these any night, but this one comes up short of my APA standards. martinboer (1333), Amsterdam, Netherlands Jul 14, 2008 On tap at White Horse on Parson’s Green. Golden body with slight fuzz. Really hoppy and spicy nose. Peppery and tangy taste. Quite hoppy taste and texture, also grapefruit. Really nice. One of my favourites of the evening. leaparsons (3904), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Jul 8, 2008 Cask, The Criterion, Leicester. Golden with a small white head. Aromas are biscuit malts with floral, spicy notes. Peppery with grapefruit bitterness. Flavours are floral with soft malts and citrus bitterness. Sweet woody pine hops with a dry finish. Svesse (1703), Hässelby, Sweden May 24, 2008 (Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm, 23 May 2008) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of lemon, grapefruit and grassy hops. Fruity, hoppy, floral taste with lemon, grapefruit and grassy hops in the finish. Balanced sweetness, slightly soapy. Medium body. Very nice hop character, and retaining balance throughout. Nice one!
