Cask at ’The Champion of the Thames’ in Cambridge. A pale gold slightly cloudy ale, rather pleasant hops and some citrus notes.

Funny hop taste in this - borders too much on the wee flavour for my liking. Not unpleasant but not a winner

From cask. Pours pale yellow with a small white head. Aroma is fruity and mild yeasty. Crisp hoppy. Peachy, crisp fruity and hoppy. Bitter, yet with a slight sweet impression. Lingering peachy to citrusy fruity. Bitter, mild fruity and crisp hoppy. Ends bitter and medium dry.

Cask at The White Swan, Reading Street: Pale amber coloured with a thin white head. Lots of hops and surprisingly malty. Very smooth and a good thirst quencher on a hot day.

Cask in Blackfriars for my Dark Star fest. Intresting one this, i was standing at the end of the bar ratings this, while working, chattin with Derek the Kelburn brewer. Some fellow camra memebers come in and startchattin to me and are like aye thats a great pint, how long you vented that for then. I say 1 1/2 - 2 days. They start giving me some nonsence about how beers taste better the longer you vent them, so they leave saying they’ll be back tomorrow when it’ll be better. Im like come now you think the super cad winner of pub of the year last year has no idea how to cellar beers ya bloody novice, its a 4.5% bitter its ment to be drunk fresh and fast, but whats more why say the beers great then head off because you find how long its been vented for. The beer itself as they said was great. Alround rating: Citrus(slight), floural, biscuity, grassy, balanced, vanilla grainy pale malts, a very nice bitter indeed.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Gold with a small white head. Faint hoppy aroma. Taste has a sweet almost vinous maltiness. Some bitterness. Didn’t quite work for me.
