Actual coffee stout with added coffee beans. Beige head, colour near to black; aroma and flavour dominated by a real, espresso-like coffee character, with subtle accents of peat, caramelly malts, dried fruits and charcoal. My cup of tea.

Tasted this at the GRAF in the Briggait, Glasgow on 27th June 2014. Cask, gravity dispense. Pours a dull black with an open tan head. Strong aroma of Nescafe granules, long in intensity. Thin oily mouthfeel and poor lacing. Dark malts give a strong black coffee flavour with a hint of chicory and plain chocolate full in the mouth. Very little in the way of hop resins detected in the aftertaste as coffee dominates overall. Finish is malty and dry with liquorice, plain chocolate and barley grain coming through in the palate. An ok session Stout but some might find the coffee element too domineering though.
