Cask gravity London Drinker BF 06. Like ESBman, this was my first beer of the festivl and rather spoilt myself by having one of the best beers there right off the bat. Gold colour with thin white head. Grapefruity hop aroma so typical of a lot of D Star beers. Good hoppy flavour with structure from the juicy pale malts. Finish is citric hop with more grapefruit. Brilliant beer.

Cask (gravity) London Drinker Festival 2006. Wonderfully hoppy aroma, grapefruit flavour, assertive citirc finish.

Cask (gravity dispense), London Drinker Beer Festival, March 2006. Golden amber in colour. Sweetish aroma with plenty of grassy, spicy hops. More citric on the palate, with grapefruit prominent and a fair amount of backbone. Fairly typical of a Dark Star beers but I thought it had just a little less presence than some of their beers. Pretty good though.

Cask at the London Drinker Festival. Floral hop aroma. Simple malt character, Juicy citrus fruit, American style hops and some sharp lemon juice.

Cask@London Drinker. Quite a cracking ale. Hoppy, aromatic, with subtle notes of lychee and grapefruit. Typical Dark star effort, very hoppy and delicious, really enjoyable and a great way to start the fest!

Cask (London Drinker 06): Hoppy grassy nose. Golden in colour. Grassy, herbal hop flavour dominates, with some mild citric notes. Simple malts in the background. Very refreshing and moreish.

The very first beer tasted (by half-pint) at the London Drinker’s beerfest., 22/03/06. Gravity-dispensed. According to the festival programme, this is a "Festival Special", so I felt so privileged to get to taste it~~ Appearance: dark yellowish hue, very pale... low carbonation with great clarity. Aroma: HUGE aroma of flowers and lychee fruits: I wonder if Cascade hops are used? a twist of grapefruit peel at the back, on top of a very mild but still noticeable malty base. Taste: bitter-sweet grapefruity flavour dominates the palate, backed by subtle, toasted maltiness, while a zesty tang and herbal bitterness intensifies without limits... towards a lon...g and satisfying hoppy-bitter finish. Soft and balanced bodied, delicate fizziness, superbly lingering bitterness... I could drink it ALL DAY, be it rain or shine!! I’ve finally found another Dark Star product which beats its own legendary Hop Head. Great one-off--if only they’d make it a regular~~
