August 19, 2013 - handpull cask at Southampton Arms. Pretty much opaque ruby-black with a small but nice bubbly tan head. Interesting aroma - treacle and molasses, but mild, a little ropey tar for funkiness, no real alcohol or bitterness. Taste follows, just a hint of prune - really nice stuff, quite toasty and not all that sweet. Light and slick and a little still - finishes fast. I like it!

Cask at EBF XV, 08/08/13. Light black with a mahoosive creamy light tan head. Nose is a little thin, light roast malts, dark fruit tang, paper. Taste comprises toffee, biscuit, light roast, dark fruits. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, smooth on the palate. An Ok mild more so in look and feel than flavour as I’d have expected a little more depth and taste from a 4.7% example of this style.

Cask at the 15th Egham Beer Festival. Chestnut with a thick cream head; the aroma has a touch of smoke; it’s malty and soft in the mouth with a good grapefruity bitterness. Complex and satisfying.

Cask at harp. Very dark brown colour with a thin off white head. Nice aroma of choc, coffee, coke, rum and dark fruit. Fine carbonation. It's good. A lovely mix of sweet coffee cake, chocolate and maybe a touch of vanilla and some bitterness coming through at the end. Nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cask conditioned at St Aldates Tavern, Oxford. Dark brown with cream head. Rich, liquorice type flavours initially, hints of sweetness mingled with bitterness then a citrusy type fruitiness along with a smoky note. Lasting and very drinkable.
