Sampled cask conditioned at Akkurat, Stockholm.
Hazy orange-amber. Intense grapefruit aroma. Medium bodied, firm and rather clean with resiny, very bitter finish. A highly aromatic ale, described as a bitter, but very much in the middle of the guidelines for American pale ale.

Good in mouth, decent juicy malt, before sherberty earthy hop cuts in and lasts and lasts. Beautifl. Utterly drinkable. Gorgeous hop/malt balance. Resiny piney hop.

Cask Conditioned at The Horse & Groom, Caulcott, Oxon. Golden with perfect head. This is Dark Star Hophead's big brother, if you like hops, then this is the boy for you. A glorious whoosh of bitterness greets the first mouthful with a heady citrus and peppery twang. Fantastic balance that allows the bitterness to come through. There is a pine nut note in the finish, top quality bitter.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 hopscotch (8242) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JUN 22, 2004
On cask at David Copperfield’s in NYC...
Hazy, yellow ale. The nose is of citrus fruit and butterscotch. Well-balanced... well-bittered, but not overdone. Nice flavors of butterscotch and grapefruit. Medium-bodied with a dry mouthfeel and feather-soft carbonation. Lengthy, bone-dry finish. Just not a big fan of cask-conditioned ales... there, I finally said it.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 JoeMcPhee (7671) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 1, 2010
Pale golden beer with a tight white head. The nose is lovely. Lightly fruity with a kiss of light citrusy hoppiness. There is a nice spiciness as well as a bit of lemon and citrus. Soft crackery malt and a touch of toast. It’s a nice combination of US and UK ingredients, highlighting the best of both. Highly quaffable with a lovely lingering fresh hoppiness. A nice bitterness on the finish and even a touch of resin. Really tasty stuff.
