4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, Beers of Europe. Hazy golden pour with a small white head. Grassy hop and citrus aplenty snout-wise. Sweet malt, and plenty more hop and juicy citrus unfolded in the taste. Prolonged mouth coating bitterness. Really enjoyable Quite an intense brew that delivered the goods man.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Gravity Cask @ Urban Taphouse. Super hoppy, with a weedy, leafy, flower stalk thing going on. Sharp chemical aftertaste with hops dancing around on the tongue long after swallowing. Quite a bold taste, perhaps too much at times but a good beer nonetheless.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask at CPK. Yellow / orange with a bubbly white head. Smell - toned down tropical fruits, hoppy. Body is medium to light, slightly foamy, carbonation is low. Taste - hoppy, under-ripe citrus fruits, bit of cheese, lots of resin, musty, sharp on tongue, quite astringent, medicinal. Doesn’t have enough flavour to carry the astringency. Unbalanced, but a decent effort.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Nice but would not have realised there was some special hop process involved. An almost animal aroma, lots of pine bitterness in the body, not that amazing.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask at the Harp. Pours clear orange with a billowing white head. Nose matches the beer name. Green hops - grass, apple, lime, citric rind. Begins sweet while the bitterness comes in. Sweetness eventually takes over. A touch sharp but a clean mouth feel. Little heat on the finish. Taste is very lemon and lime focused with grass and tangerine in there. Solid stuff

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cask at George, Croydon. It pours clear amber with a medium white head. The nose is earthy, grass hay, light toast and orange marmalade. The taste is damn bitter, pine, resinous, grassy, grapefruit, leaf, juicy citrus, burnt rubber and pepper with a big bitter finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Crazy bitterness! A brilliant cask IPA.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Domus Birrae. BBF 15 Oct 13. Pours hazy dark gold with a foamy white head. Aroma is mixed hop over mild roast malt. Med + body. Flavor is very hoppy - but the combo suggests scorched rubber. Hop burn. Strongly hopped. Grabs the taste buds and won’t let go. Earth and resin seem to be strong components. This is extreme. If rating multiple beers, make this the last. The scorched rubber thing is not a bad thing. In this beer anyway. With time the flavor does seem to separate into components. So now I think earth, resin, floral. Not going for citrus at the moment. This is challengingly hoppy - as to which, not too how much. This beer demonstrates that there can’t be too much hop. Wowsa.
