4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Domus Birrae. BBF 15 Oct 13. Pours hazy dark gold with a foamy white head. Aroma is mixed hop over mild roast malt. Med + body. Flavor is very hoppy - but the combo suggests scorched rubber. Hop burn. Strongly hopped. Grabs the taste buds and won’t let go. Earth and resin seem to be strong components. This is extreme. If rating multiple beers, make this the last. The scorched rubber thing is not a bad thing. In this beer anyway. With time the flavor does seem to separate into components. So now I think earth, resin, floral. Not going for citrus at the moment. This is challengingly hoppy - as to which, not too how much. This beer demonstrates that there can’t be too much hop. Wowsa.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Grassy hops, some pine needles, nice caramel-malt sweetness to balance but the alcohol comes through really strongly. Good beer but could certainly be more drinkable.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: Served in a taster:
Medium sized vast and sticky white foamy head on top of clear(?) yellow colored beer.
Aromas of butter, sweat, floral hops, hint of cream and butterscotch, light flower and citrus tint.
Flavours of bitters, floral tones, some older hops, little warmth, some butter, some malts, some herbs. You can taste it’s a bit older but it’s not bad, stil within the best before date.
Aftertaste is bitter, floral, older hops, some malts and a dryness.
Low carbo, soft creamy mouthfeel, medium bodied and a creamy texture.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle bb 15/10/13. Not the freshest. Pours a golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma is grassy, nettles and caramel. It's a bit messy tasting - caramel, a little veg, a bit of grapefruit. OK.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Clear and golden with a large head that took some time to dissipate.
Hoppy and bitter but the hoppiness is quite discrete. Not as powerful as some IPA’S but still very nice.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
My Bottom Line:
This dryish Fresh Hop IPA purports citrusy and peppery hop resins, as floral angles latch on to straw-like malts.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the misty pale golden.
-This lacked aromatic properties, but I tend to say the same of most of their Pale Ales and IPAs.
-The mouthfeel is once again finely crafted.
-The hop bitterness is also pine-like.
-I was surprised at the quality of this brew’s hop profile even though I got the bottle a few months after its prime (but still within the ‘best before’ date).

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
330ml bottle from Quel Vin. Hazy orange amber colour, reasonable head. Creamy vanilla malt aroma. Biscuit, vanilla cream & hop flavour. Dry citrus aftertaste. Not a typical IPA.
