Cask (gravity dispense) at the Pigs Ear Beer Festival, London on 6 December 2006. A quite dark, reddish-brown colour with fairly lively condition. Quite restrained aroma with the emphasis on biscuity malt. Softish fruity malt and caramel on the palate with just a smattering of spicy hop. Middle of the road. I would have preferred rather more bitterness.

Cask@Pigs Ear BF 06. A nice, drinkable bitter. This shows some lightly toasty malt notes, with some earthy citric hops in the finish. Ever so light smokeyness aswell. More malty than hoppy i thought.

Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Pigs Ear BF. Chestnut colour with nice syrupy malt. OK in mouth. Dryish finish. Bit ashey, nice malty bitter.

Cask conditioned - gravity dispense. Pigs Ear BF. A chestnut brown coloured beer with an off-white head. The aroma is farty and malty and not too inviting. The taste is mlaty and bready. Toasty and oat ridden. Some berry fruits as well. Crunchy, crisp and far better tasting than smelling.
