Cask conditioned at Merton Winter Beer Fest ’13. Greeny gold with white head. A beer with it all, loads of sharp, hoppiness, fruity, grapefruit, lasting bitterness. The beer holds the attention throughout with a long, long finish. This is a Jack Russell of a beer, a small one that thinks it’s much bigger. Excellent.

On cask @ Coach and Horses Dronfield - a lemony gold colour, nice lacing white head, but nothing much in the nose. A bit of citric hoppiness found its way in there, but nothing that shouted "guess what you’re going to taste next". The first sip is an explosion of tart lemons and tropical citrus, a proper ping on the tongue, so crisp and so much going on for a low ABV. That, given a well rounded mouthfeel meant this lasted not long at all. One for a session that’s for sure.

21st January 2013 Old Fountain. Almost clear gold beer, little white head. Slightly soft palate and semi dry. Mild fine carbonation. Nice presentation of Galaxy here - juicy and only medium bitter. Lacks the harshness so many Galaxy beers seem to have. Nice orange citrus with lesser notes of mango and tangerine. Neutral malt supports. Semi dry finish. Very satisfying.

Cask at CPK, London. Pours clear yellow with a fine, white foam head. Light zesty citrus aroma, some straw. Light to medium sweet flavor with dry straw and fresh lemon. Light in body with fine carbonation. Great condition. Clean finish, light pee, more lemon. I know nothing in the previous few lines reflects how outstanding this beer is, so I’ll be more straightforward: THIS BEER IS OUTSTANDING. As ABV session beers go, it would be tough to beat out this guy. It’s just great, really great. I could drink this stuff by the gallon.

Cask (Live and Let Live, Cambridge)
Light citrussy and black tea aroma. Soft palate, carbonation low. Gentle toffee-like malts, some pungent spicy hops - nettles in places. Ginger in the finish. Simple, but so tasty and refreshing. Pale, loose sticky head. Finish quite dry, some resiness. Very nicely attenuated.

Cask at Cask Pub and Kitchen, Pimlico, London. A clear golden coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, citrus fruit, pine aroma. Tastes hoppy, citrus fruit, pine, slight bitterness. Really easy drinking session beer.

Cask at Cask Pub & Kitchen. It pours clear pale gold with a medium white head. The nose is quite clean, passion fruit, pithy citrus, urine, lime, dough and hay. The taste is pissy hops, hay, zesty citrus, orange, lime, passion fruit, straw, nice bitterness and dough with a dry, crisp finish. Light-medium body and soft carbonation. Good bitterness, crisp, clean, well-balanced and massively drinkable. Great flavour for 3.8%. I could drink an excessive amount of this no problem.

Cask @ CPK. The pour’s a light gold color with a small, creamy head. The nose is super bright. Plenty of sweet, inviting hoppy aromas. CItrus fruits, mango, plenty of piss and dried funky grass. The taste is juicy white grape, more sweet fruits. Salt marsh grass. Lemon peel and more piss. Light body, soft and and inviting. Overall, this is unbelievably flavorful for a 3.8% beer. Fantastic stuff served in great condition. I could drink this all day.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Theydon_Bois (2957) - The ’Sham, Surrey, ENGLAND - JAN 18, 2013
Cask at the Cask, Pimlico, 18/01/13, split with Chris, Jan and Charlotte.
Clear pale golden with a thin white head that reduces to small edgelife.
Nose is hops, light eggy fart/sulphurs, citrus notes.
Taste is cleaner than the nose, hops, citrus, light pine, peach, sugars.
Medium bodied with soft carbonation, bitterness in the finish.
Ok drop but not a patch on the much cleaner standard Hophead.
