Bottle from Pig’s Ear Festival 2008, vintage 2007, 3 years old Completely black color, with very small head. Aroma of molasses, tar, dark malts, some liquorice and old wood; oxidized probably. Good body structure; the roasted malt and chocolate are well blended together; there is a late impression of liquorice, tar and leather, also un underlying acidity. The bitterness is not very high. The alcohol is very well hidden. Quite elegant.

(Cask at Great Baltic Adventure/Gallows, 20110611) The beer poured pitch black. Its head was light brown. Aroma had alcohol, liquorice and roasted malts. Palate was full bodied and warming. Flavours were liauorice, sea water, alcohol, mildly chocolate, hops and bitterness. Aftertaste had liquorice and bitterness. Nice and quite well balanced imperial stout with a little bit too much of alcohol burning.
