Courtesy of bierkoning, ty Edo! Opaque black color, not much head. Toasted malts and licorice in the nose. Medium to full-bodied, alcohol attacks in the start. Cold coffee, licorice and roasted malts in the flavor. Liquerish mouthfeel. Bitterness and alcohol in the aftertaste. Warming winter beer, but quite simple big impy

Jul 22, 2008 2007 Bottle from Utobeer. Cola coloured with a minimal tan head. Sweet aroma of milk chocolate,prunes, figs and some hard to place spice. Flavour had more sweet chocolate, along with roasted malt, vanilla and a touch more fruit. The finish had plenty of warming alcohol and a lot of dryness. Drinkable, but I preferred Harvey’s by a long way.

Jul 9, 2008 Bottle, from Fin. Been looking for this one for ages—really kind of you to get this for me mate! Shiny black pour, sandy tan head. Cocoa, mahogany, chalk and cinnamon aroma. A little whiff of quinine around the edges. A sip: Mmmm. Red velvet cake. Coffee laced with rum. Chaser of chalk dust. Surprisingly light body for the abv. Lots of flavor and deceptively drinkable.

Jun 18, 2008 Bottle @ WSF 2008. Near black with tiny beige head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, overripe fruits and caramel notes. Sweet flavor with roasted malt, coffee and chocolate notes.
