Ungstrup (11164), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 24, 2006 [Vintage 2005 - sampled October 2006] A dark brown beer with a red shine under a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel and spices - amongst those anise, but also light notes of alcohol and berries. The flavor is sweet malty with light notes of roasted malt, anise, and alcohol. I don’t find much power - but the alcohol gets very present in the end - and burns slightly in the throat - and leaves You with a dry feeling. Papsoe (9999), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 21, 2006 (Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of kook. Clear, dark brown with a tint of red and an almost non-existing head. Low in carbonation. Vinous aroma - port and raisins. Very full-bodied with lots of roasted malt, dried fruit, port and alcohol. Some bitterness. Lovely. 211006 joergen (6340), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 27, 2008 Bottle.
