COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask & Bottle Conditioned;
Imperial Stout is a truly special beer which harks back to the days when English brewers exported strong stouts and ports to the Baltics. Brewed with a high proportion of roasted barley and target hops, this is complex beer with a big flavour. Our bottle conditioned Imperial Stout has been aged at the brewery so you may enjoy it now, although it will continue to improve for many years.

Bottle @ the Horse school WSF-08 afterparty in Opstal.
Clear dark black color with a average, frothy, good lancing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate, alcohol notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily - smooth, carbonation is soft. (240508)

[Vintage 2005 - sampled October 2006] A dark brown beer with a red shine under a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel and spices - amongst those anise, but also light notes of alcohol and berries. The flavor is sweet malty with light notes of roasted malt, anise, and alcohol. I don’t find much power - but the alcohol gets very present in the end - and burns slightly in the throat - and leaves You with a dry feeling.

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of kook. Clear, dark brown with a tint of red and an almost non-existing head. Low in carbonation. Vinous aroma - port and raisins. Very full-bodied with lots of roasted malt, dried fruit, port and alcohol. Some bitterness. Lovely. 211006

Light as a feather and as smooth as a babys arse! Velvet chocolate with an underlying hint of red fruit. A long coffeeish finish, dry. Lovely!

Bottle from Pig’s Ear Festival 2008, vintage 2007, 3 years old
Completely black color, with very small head. Aroma of molasses, tar, dark malts, some liquorice and old wood; oxidized probably. Good body structure; the roasted malt and chocolate are well blended together; there is a late impression of liquorice, tar and leather, also un underlying acidity. The bitterness is not very high. The alcohol is very well hidden. Quite elegant.
