thewolf (3392), Kolding, Denmark May 8, 2008 Bottle, bought @ Utobeer Market Stand, London. [vintage 2007]
Pours almost black with a small, creamy, cappucino-beige head. Fine lacing. Aroma is rather light. Some semi-hard roasted malts, chocolate and light Java coffee. Mouthfeel is very creamy with quite low carbonation. Very vinious flavour, a bit sharp actually. Otherwise, this is a wonderful brew, lots of sweetish coffee, chocolate and liqourice and hard roasted malts.
Doppelganger (1080), Oxford, Oxfordshire, England Jul 9, 2008 Bottle, from Fin. Been looking for this one for ages—really kind of you to get this for me mate! Shiny black pour, sandy tan head. Cocoa, mahogany, chalk and cinnamon aroma. A little whiff of quinine around the edges. A sip: Mmmm. Red velvet cake. Coffee laced with rum. Chaser of chalk dust. Surprisingly light body for the abv. Lots of flavor and deceptively drinkable. KimJohansen (2304), Copenhagen V, Denmark Jun 18, 2008 Bottle @ WSF 2008. Near black with tiny beige head.
