Light gold colour. Aroma is citric, with masses of ginger and oriental spice (lemon grass) which did wonders for my cold. Ginger continues on to the palate. Very clean and refreshing. Whether its efficacy as a cold remedy qualifies it as a good beer is open to question, but I enjoyed it. Cask (gravity dispense), Reading Beer Festival 2005.

Clear medium yellow colour with a average to small, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, white bread, toasted - pale malt, spicy, ginger, cheesy hop. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20110801]

Cask @ Craft Beer Co., London. Clear dark orange / light amber color. Smell ginger or rosemary, I think the latter; don’t like it anyway. Taste is a little better, but still too much herbs or spices. Low carbonation, low body.

Cask @ Cask Pub and Kitchen, London. Pours clear golden with a small white head. Ginger mainly. Some bready malts and fruit. But very one dimensional with ginger upfront. Not my thing.

From Cask at CP&K. It pours straw yellow, with a thin foamy white head and low carbonation. The nose is white bread, ginger, sweaty sock and cheesy hop. The taste is white bread, hay, cereal, ginger, light spice, hop resin and wood, with a bitter finish. This is a bit of a let-down from the great brewers of Dark Star.

Cask @ The Harp, London. Golden amber colour, reasonable head. Mild resin aroma. Biscuit resin flavour, bitter aftertaste. Acceptable golden ale.

Cask - Artillery Arms, Ramsgate. Hazy yellow, a fine white head and some lacing. Plenty of ginger on the nose accompanied by herbs and lemon. An immediate hit of ginger with a floral, perfuminess and a spicy, resiny bitterness. Slightly warming, remains crisp with a medium body and a lasting herby, ginger finish. Woo is this gingery.

Cask @ Bodega Newcastle 21/8/8 Pale gold beer with a tight white head, a spicy fruity nose amd an intense citrus fruit taste of grapefruit and lemon with that not overbearing ginger spice note throughout. Ends in a loooong bitter finish, nice beer.
