Cask; Special - July 2010.
A naturally hazy beer brewed using malted German wheat in addition to barley malts. The restrained bitterness is augmented bu the addition of the very peppery Paradise seeds and Curacao peel in the copper.

Cask handpull from volunteer arms at GBBF 2010. Hazy cloudy orange gold with thick beige head. Ester banana aroma. Some marzipan too. Good stab at a weisse beer and best UK attempt I’ve had.

Cask (Wenlock Arms, London)
5 Simple banana and pale sweet bready aroma. Some sharpness and hinting at flaws.
4 Bold cloudy orange.
6 Banana toffee, light wheaty grains. Gentle hoppiness.
3 Fullish, but a bit flat. Carbonation low. Finish is green hops.
12 Suffers a bit from a few weaknesses. Maybe not as fresh as it could be.

[3230-20100801] Cask. Fruity yeast aroma. Murky, brown orange body with quick white bubbles. Thick apple fruit yeast flavour has a cloying aftertaste. Thick medium body. Being on cask makes it a little less interesting.

Wheaty, fruity taste with banana, bread, clove and a slightly citric wheat character. Medium body, with some sweetness. Tasty and solid hefeweizen in a traditional German style. Nice one.
