2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Cask at the Half Moon, Windlesham (Jan ’12) .Golden/amber in colour with a small ’off’ white head .
Hop, fruit and a touch of sulphur on the nose, not unpleasent, but not alluring!
Slightly sweet in taste for a bitter, with a small amount of hop biterness in the aftertaste. A hint of caramel and fruit in the background.
Fairly thin in body and leading to a dry-ish finish.
Not a bad beer, but the most disappointing I’ve sampled to date from Dark Star - they set high standards!
Simply ’whelming’ !
