UPDATED: NOV 15, 2013
July 2013 - Keg at the ’Howl at the Moon’. Short review due to session. Cloudy yellow, foamy white head. Smell is toned down and taste is watery. Tastes very much like a beer that has been watered down. Some nice aspects coming through but very subtle. (3)
Nov 2013 - Cask at JDW Victoria Station. Clear amber orange with a scummy white head. Smells of cheesy hops. Body is light and carbonation low. Taste - some fruit but completely overpowered with cheese. OK. Very different to the last time. (3.1)

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
13/07/2013 Open Baladin (handpump). Dorata, limpidissima, schiuma bianca leggera, molto persistente. Al naso sentori di malto, note biscottate, agrumate, leggero fruttato ed erbaceo. In bocca è equilibrata, malto e luppolo si sposano abbastanza bene, l’amaro è intenso e abbastanza persistente. Corpo leggero, carbonazione soft. Dark Star è sempre una garanzia!

UPDATED: JUL 12, 2013 Real ale @ Oluthuone Leskinen. Fruity hoppy and caramel malty aroma. Sweetish malty flavour has resin and good bitterness quite standard for the style. Soft mouthfeel and no carbonation as it’s a real ale. Medium body. Maybe wasn’t in the best shape anymore. Rating #600

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
My Bottom Line:
Crunchy cereals merge into citrusy hops, as delicate caramel moves effortlessly into resinous bitterness.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sliver of foam lingers atop the clear dark amber.
-These guys always develop wonderful cereal flavours, no matter what beer they brew. Amazing.
-Style-wise, you could say this is midway between an American-style Pale Ale and an Extra Special Bitter. What matters most though is that it is superb.
-The low carbonation and slick mouthfeel make for supreme drinkability.
-Hops also share an elderflower-like floral character.
By gravity cask at Middle Farm (East Sussex).
