On cask. Appearance: light orange, decent pure white head. Aroma: Grassy hops, a little fruity, strawberry perhaps, malty too. Flavour: Sweet, bitter, a little creamy in the mouthfeel, some caramel with quite a lot of hops. Long bitter finish. Nice.

(cask, hand pump) Golden coloured, clear. Aroma has lots of citrus, mainly like orange peel or marmalade, piney, plus some cereal-like malts. Taste is lightly sweet with a moderate bitterness, good balance. Medium body. Well-rounded, balanced, smooth. Makes me think of liquid marmalade. Nice.

Cask at Angleterre, Helsinki. Pours orange in color with whitish head. Citrus and cats piss in aroma. Flavour quite similar with more of some floral notes coming through though. Notes of some wild, slightly sweet berries in aftertaste mixed with grassy bitterness.

Cask at Craft Brixton. Lightish golden colour. Hoppy citrus aromas. Good full hop taste, moderately bitter, slightly fruity. Alcohol is well hidden. A very solid and drinkable beer, somehow didn’t excite me though. Will retry!

Old Fountain, Old Street 5 Nov 12. Gyldenbrun. OK tett skum som varer og fester seg litt til glasset. Søt tyggegummeaktig aroma. Søt, litt utvannet smak. Søt fruktig ettersmak.

Thanks to Finn for sharing a cask ale at The Old Fountain. Low white head with fine retention. Clear amber coloured body. Dried fruity aroma with mild malty sweetness. Malt accented taste with pine-like fruits beneath. Dry bitter endnotes. Well balanced and medium bodied. Likable (London, 05.11.2012).

Cask pour at Cask, Pimlico. Nice tawny pour, medium but firm carbonation. Nose is initially a bit overly sweet, both from heavy fruit and evident malt robustness. The beer feels and tastes much lighter and more balanced, though, with a citrus spritzer and dry herbal quality that integrates well with the other dimensions. Dry finish, a touch of spice among the herbal qualities but fragrant consistently. Pretty good, though not the best I had from Dark Star.
