Cask at the Cask Pub & Kitchen on 26th March 2010. Hazy gold with a thin lasting white head of foam. Strong grapefruit hop and "Brugse Zot/Orval" style yeast/hop aromas in a slightly "sticky" texture. Dry hoppy finish. The best Beglian-style cask conditioned ale I have drunk. Exquisite and very well crafted.

A Mes rate. Gravicask at London Drinker. Bright yellow coloured with a thin white rim. Looks like a mad lambic. Good lemony wheaty notes with a faint sourness and some really good fruit. Bright and tangy, superbly dry and all round awesome. Not particularly saison like but impressively Belgian all the same. Lovely stuff.

Pale gold, cask at Southampton Arms. Fantastic flavoru of soft fruit - apricots and oragnes, some funky yeast character, dusty hops. Long complex finish. Superb.

UPDATED: JUL 9, 2011 Cask gravity, Derby Summer BF 2011. Misted gold/white halo. Banana, coriander, dusty perfumed aroma. Really good soft perfumed character. Nothing like an English as claimed. Thick and peppery, big fruity esters. No funk or horse or anything but then saison is a broad church, and this is a proper saison. Excellent.

Cask at CPK. Pours a lightly hazed, yellow-gold with a fine, foam head. Prominent Belgian yeast aroma, some bubblegum and clove. Medium sweet, very yeasty, some biscuits, banana. Medium in body with soft to fine carbonation. Slightly dry finish, more clove and yeast. Nice.

Cask at Cloisters. Yellow, a little cloudy. Cider apple and lemon on the nose. Lemon, grapefruit and rosemary flavours. Some lingering bitterness. Not bad.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 18/03/09. Pale, slightly hazy gold in colour, with a billowy white head that left plenty of lacing. Peppery, spicy nose with a hint of tropical fruit and lemon and some dusty hops. Flavour was sweetish, with a grainy edge, some citrus dryness, coriander herbs and a decent bitter finish. From memory, a good effort at creating the style. Excellent.

Hand pulled cask at the Southampton Arms. Hazy amber with a small lacy white head. Noticable belgium yeast and decent resinous hops balance a lovely sweet juicey malt base. I’d love to try this from a fresh cask.
