3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Ethereal (2399) - Los Angeles, California, USA - JUL 31, 2011
Cask at the CASK Pub & Kitchen, 1st Nov 2010. Light amber with very little head. Strong simcoe nose and flavour. Lemony. More balanced that the green hop IPA. Definitely a hop lover’s beer though.

Cask handpull at CP&K Pimlico. Gold, lasting off white head. Aroma is stunning. Wow. It’s a simcoe IPA, brilliant. Lovely. Love it. Simcoe hops sing through. Not overly bitter.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 chriso (7065) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 14, 2011
Cask (handpump) at the Cask Pub & Kitchen on 1 November 2011. Amber colour. Not much head. Lovely resinous hop aroma. Sweetish. Good pine and grapefruit character in the flavour. Is this the same beer as the Green-Hopped IPA without the additional green hops? This seemed to have a touch more oomph in the aroma but the mouthfeel was a little stickier. Honours even.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Leighton (4097) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 1, 2010
Cask at CPK. Pours clear gold with a white, creamy cap. Lightly dank hop aroma, with some pine, citrus and sweat. Fairly sweet, with some caramel and faint toast, then lots of pine and grapefruit bitterness. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation and light warmth. Semi-dry in the finish, resiny and quite sticky, with some mild sugar and strong, lingering hops. Really solid.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 MesandSim (7109) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 1, 2010
A Mes rate. Cask at the Cask n Kitchen as part of the meet the brewer event. Superb mid gold colour with a thin white head and superb condition. Damn good start. Glorious grass and citric fruit rush up the nostrils with each sniff and in all honesty I can not sniff hard enough and deep enough. Equally great in the mouth. The big hops give just a tinge of soapy character that just holds it back just a touch but it’s hard to complain. Superb grass and citric fruit, equally glorious bitterness. Just bloody marvelous all round. Dark Star are worthy of all the praise they get.
