(Cask at Dean Swift, Tower Bridge, London, 21 April 2012) Amber colour with foamy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrus, orange peel, treacle and resin. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of orange peel, grapefruit, resin and a generous citric bitterness in a long finish, all backed up by a solid malt foundation. Slightly more than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Impressive hop character. Lovely beer!

Cask @ OT. Pours hazy orange. Notes of black currant, grape and caramel. Super smooth. Heavy and refreshing bitterness. Very hoppy, but at the same time well balanced. Nice mix of the smooth and drinkable real ale qualities and an american IPA.

Cask @ CPK. Light amber color with a small, creamy white head. The nose is quite grassy, plenty of hops and cheesy notes. Some lemon rind. The taste is light balanced malts, with a bitter lemon hop finish. Citrus, grapefruit. Yeast is present. Overall, decent, but nothing special from this great brewery.

Cask Conditioned handpump Bree Louise London. (One of my twelve lost (for now) notes, so this is as well as I remember). I was expecting good things from this and it delivered, even at The Bree Louise. Wish I’d not lost my notes but it will be a pleasure to revisit this. Wonderfully hoppy and with a good body, Wonderfully balanced and superbly drinkable. Although the body helps give the ABV away, the alcohol is never intrusive.

Scopey (1659) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 18, 2011
On cask at the Evening Star, Brighton. Pours golden yellow with a thin beige head. The nose is pine, lime, floral, varnish and some farmyard towards the end. The taste is hay, grass, pine, varnish, lemon and orange peel with some honey lingering towards the long bitter finish. It is medium bodied with a slightly sticky mouth-feel. Well balanced and easy to drink - great stuff!
