Cask at CP&K. It pours dark brown, with a decent off-white head. The nose is smoke, caramel and a touch of dark fruit. 3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask conditioned at The Turf Tavern, Oxford. Chestnut with off white head. This was a full, dry and yes smokey, peaty beer, nice and earthy with hints of fruitiness. Damp bonfire with a baked fruit pie, really pretty decent, particularly after a bad run of beers.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask at the CASK Pub & Kitchen, 1st Nov 2010. Russet bronze with a small off-white head. Sweet nose, bit musty. Sweet caramel with smoke hanging over it is the best way to describe it. Your mouth adapts to the smokiness and so the other flavours come through more towards the bottom of the glass.
