Cask Handpump at the Pot Of Beer, Manchester 16/11/2001 Mid brown colour and very fruity. Dry hop finish.

Cask (gravity dispense), Chelmsford Beer Festival, July 2005. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a British brewer attempt a bock before, so full marks for trying. However, it didn’t succeed entirely. The colour is a deep tawny. Malty aroma but it has a quite raw, stagnant, feel to it. Dull, malty flavour with caramel, hints of licorice and a touch of bitterness. But the flavours were a bit muted and, overall, there wasn’t really a lot happening for me.

Cask@Chelmsford Beer Festival. A bock on cask? Doughy caramel sweetness, touch of soy (only aa very small touch). A little sticky and flat in the mouthfeel. Not the best from thiss brewer, but still nice and soft and as usual from Dark Star, well made.
