3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
My first Dark Star experience, found at the LCBO in a 500ml brown bottle. Pours a clean golden colour with a frothy white head, decent retention and soapy lace. Aromas of sweet fruits (oranges, peaches) mixed with grain and honey. The taste is not as sweet, thankful. Quite mild actually, with a nice blend of biscuit malt and hops. Not too bitter and not long lasting. Just refreshing, but not a swill. A pretty good overall well-brewed golden ale.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, Booths, Penrith. Sweet malty aromas, quite an earthy taste, with hops coming in very late. Strangely reminiscent of mass produced tinned lager initially, but his gives to a far more enjoyable sherbet and peppery flavour, with a continental feel to it late on. Very summery, very drinkable.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle, 50 cl. Light hazy golden with a small white head. Smooth toffee and fruity, floral hops in the nose. Sweet, light bitter floral falvor, light citrus, light herbal, light body. A little to much toffee for my palate to be really crisp.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle. It pours an almost clear body, golden in color and with a small, off-white head. Quite a lot of butterscotch in the aroma, almost hiding the fruityness. Not very pleasant. The same goes for the flavor. One gets used to the butterscotch, but itís still a bit unpleasant. Fruity too. Full body, pleasant carbonation. Butterscotch and fruityness in the finish. Not my kind of beer. 130222
