Cask Pint at Wibbas Down (JDW), Wimbledon, London in July 2013 - Pale Yellowy Gold in colour. Very hoppy; grassy hops. Very fruity; grapefruit and lemon citrus, very tangy. Malty; sweet malts. Moderately bitter citrus fruity hoppy throughout. Dry bitter fruity hop finish. Rather like drinking a bitter citrus fruit cocktail. (Note: Don’t remember the bottled version being this good) Very refreshing. Liked this a lot. Nice beer!

Tasted this in the Three Judges, Glasgow in August 2013. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale gold in colour with a thin white head. Slight sweet note of barley sugar in the short malty aroma. Thin and resiny mouthfeel. Poor lacing throughout. Pale malts gives a digestive biscuit base with a distinctively sweet golden syrup flavour full in the mouth. Dusty note of floral hop resins with hints of elderflower present in the short aftertaste. Finish is slightly sweet with warming malt and orange peel present. A decent session Golden Ale.

Cast at 'spoons, Victoria. Pours a light gold, not much sign of carbonation. Thin white head. Sweet smelling, light honey/caramel, slight floral. Light to medium body, very light carbonation. Sweet caramel, a bit biscuity, a bit of pear and a nice light grapefruit bitter finish. Nice.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
My Bottom Line:
Slick honeyed malts lift soft citrus fruit and floral angles in this oily, smooth Golden Ale.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam tops the clear honey gold.
-Spicy hop resins slowly build with every sip, but remain behind the honeyed malts.
-The flavor profile is more delicate than that of their Hophead or Summer Solstice.
-The rendering is of course very professional.
-Drinkability is through the roof.
On cask at The Quadrant Ale House, Brighton.
