Cask, Far From The Madding Crowd summer ale festival. Yellow-gold, dense fine white head. Very pretty warm hops; melon, but sans musk. Oranges, but orange juice, with none of the bite of the skin. A fresh yellow heirloom tomato quality. Nice full hop flavor but gentle bitterness. Oranges, sweet corn. Soft palate with a nice roundness, though not particularly sweet. An interesting beer, and distinctive even among DS lineup.

Brasserie 4:20 (cask). Corpo leggero, carbonazione corretta, freschissima e beverina. Ottima golden ale.

DruncanVeasey (5147) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - OCT 9, 2011
Gravity, Hinckley 2011, 16/09/11. Bullion gold without a head. Mildly juicy hop aroma of apricot and hay. Rich tea dunked in Darjeeling dominates the palate, which is soft, discreetly fruity, a little earthy and low in condition. Some red apple traces and almond. More a grey drizzly day in Hinckley than a Sunburst.

Cask at Cask. Pours hazy gold into an English pint. Frothy head recedes to hug rim. Sweet citrus aromas. Soft with sweet summer fruit and a lasting citrus finish.

Half, hand pulled cask served at the right drinking temperature at CP&K, Pimlico. A filmy layer at the top of a clear, light golden body. Grass with hints of malts to the nose. Hop fruity taste along with lighter notes a earthy malts. Nice rounded bitter end. Oily palate. Summer feel (London, 29.07.2011).

[cask at Cloisters, Edinburgh] Pours clear golden yellow with a decent white head. Thin aromas of sweetish malt and grassy, almost musty hop. Golden ales are never really about the nose, more the quenching drinkability – and this one has that in spades. Almost creamy mouthfeel, it’s increasingly grapefruity following the biscuit malt front end. Extremely drinkable golden ale – exactly what you want, really [24062011]
