COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Seasonal - Autumn and Winter.
Brewed with Chocolate and Crystal malts to produce this deep bronze coloured beer with a hint of malty flavour, bittered by the traditional Golding hop varieties, this is a classic strong bitter complimented by the aromatic warmth of Chinese stem ginger.

Cask at Horse & Stable on London vacation. Copper color with small off white head. Aroma of gingerbread, cardamom, pumpkin and toast. Taste is similar, spicy, pumpkin, cardamom, slight burnt notes and faint ginger. Too spicy for me.

Aroma: massive spice explosion, clove and other winter/Christmas spices. Appearance: dark amber, frothy small head. Taste: light to medium sweet. Palate: the spices again, sweetness, light bitters only, low carbonation. Overall: a very special Premium Bitter - not for every day, but on a cold evening not bad! Pint at the Cock Tavern, London.

Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. A bright bronze coloured ale with a creamy head. Has a mid-ginger character throughout with an easy to drink nature.

Dark brown, amber tints, thin loose head; nutty, malty aroma; taste is gently toasted malts; struggled to detect much else at first, but over time it revealed a pleasant smokiness and some festive spice (cinnamon in particular); initially found it watery and gave it a 2.7, but enjoyed it increasingly and had a second half; but not enough of a grower to propel it above 3.3.

Cask at the Tyburn (JDW), Marble Arch. Golden amber with a ring of white head; light, wintery spice aroma; rather sweet with a pronounced cinnamon and nutmeg taste; then a dry and lightly bitter finish with lingering spice. Not a favourite, and no sign of the promised ginger.

Cask at Angleterre, Helsinki. Bright reddish brown color. Aroma of toffee, cinnamon and ginger. Sweet taste of toffee, ginger and cinnamon. Spices give a cola like feeling. Fairly smooth palate with some woodiness from spices. Fairly pleasant although a bit too spice dominated.

Cask in Draft House Charlotte. Ruddy brown beer with thin white foam. Very full flavour, nutty malt, bittersweet taste, lots of hops, spice - ginger - works well, not overly dominant. Long bitter finish. Great wintry pint.

(cask@The Meantime Old Brewery, SE London) Reddish amber/brown colour with almost no head at all. Aroma and taste of grainy malt, fruity hops and pine and the slight spice at the end is noticeable. Overall not bad (but less impressive compared to their "Summer" Meltdown for me. (D12)
