3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Boutip (3971) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 5, 2010
Bottle: Poured a hazy medium brown color ale with a medium foamy head with light retention and not much lacing. Aroma of dry fruit and candi sugar with some subtle fruity ester is quite a treat. Taste is also a wonderful mix between some dry fruit such as raisin and plums with light residual sugar and some fruity ester with a solid malt backbone. Mix between sugar and malt is perfect with good full body and good carbonation. Very well brewed – additional carbonation and a bit less sugar would have improve what is already a great beer.

thanks 5000! Juicy concord grape aroma, some kind of a wet dog thing going on too. dark plum and copper. juicy again on the sip, more grape, some maple syrup, sugary, malt forward and one sided. bit of a diesel fuel edge. grape notes are dominant throughout

Bottle batch 4.15 bottled 5.15.2010. Brown color/ tan head. Big rootbeer spice, vanilla, chocolate malt aromas. light bodied with a slick mouthfeel. Sweet spicy flavors of rootbeer, cola, vanilla, molasses, marshmallow----alcohol is well hidden in all the sweetness here.

odd 1/5 dub bomber by way of daknole on 4/18/2010.
chestnut auburn brown with a small off white head.
odd fruity smell akin to beaten red apples, brown sugar, yeast and a weird lactic sourness. pretty traditional minus the tartness.
the flavor is the same only the tartness seems more fruit based and almost metallic. a bit lacking...
the light body is highly carbonated... kinda feels like licking a battery. 6/3/6/3/13/3.1

Bottle from daknole’s fridge of wonders. Pours a dark shade of amber with a fleeting off-white head. Smells and tastes of wheat bread. Notes of barley, yeast, and earth are also present. Not a fan.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 ephemeral8 (66) - denver, Colorado, USA - MAY 17, 2010
bottle labeled dub 6, batch 12/20, bottled 1/5
varnished mahogany--seems shiny, reflective. cream/tan colored head.
nose: fake fruit shampoo, pal gum, honey, alcohol, peeled red delic apple, fresh bamboo, caramel, when you break a young green branch off of a tree.
mouth: thin, tangy (in kind of a bad way), mild coffee. i feel like this will give me heartburn. bad like weak car dealership coffee. styrofoam, peeled red delic apple slices. mild sweetness, pal gum juiciness--especially back palate. medium length finish, mostly gum and....splenda? some banana develops.
really not bad, but after the quad this is very disappointing.

Bottle thanks to Bullzeye. A cool brew. Pours out a opaque brown color with a large white head. The aroma is sweet fruity, yeasty, a traditional dubbel. The flavor was smooth and rich fruity, light tartness, dry yeast and a nice natural flavor. Batch 12-20 bottled 1-5.
