3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 laiti (1675) - Tampere, FINLAND - FEB 6, 2012
33 cl bottle, BBE 27.03.2012
Aroma is rather malty and somewhat sweet with hints of solvent and hay. Flavour has some malt and solvent that becomes alcohol-like towards the finish. Also some nuts. Drinkable, but the solvent disturbs here.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Miksu (4012) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - FEB 2, 2012
0.33 l bottle. Amber color. Very bready aroma with raisiny caramel. Toasty bread flavor with warming alcohol and some caramel. At first this feels too bready, but I got used to it and warming alcohol character is fairly nice.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Allen (2469) - SWITZERLAND - NOV 20, 2011
Bottled 33cl. Ordered from www.bierzwerg.de. It pours a clear deep amber beer with an average sized beige head. Malty nose which is reminiscent of raisins, wax, caramel, honey and alcohol. Low bitterness. Warming on the swallow. Not much lacework. Mediocre malt profile. Caramel and honey in the finish. No major flaws but definitely not overly interesting. True to the style.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 fiulijn (10383) - Como, ITALY - JUN 24, 2011
2010-11-07, draught at the Braustüb’l of the brewery, 6-5-7-3-13=34 Dark amber color, almost mahogany, hazy. There is light caramel aroma, lighter than from the bottle. The body is correctly strong, with a round mouthfeel; there is strong caramel flavor, sweeter and more achieved than in the bottle; the final is balanced, the bitterness is correct, there is also a classic nutty touch. Pleasant.
2010-11-06, bottle from Maruhn, Darmstadt, 6-4-6-3-13=32 Dark chestnut color with some dark amber reflex. Light aroma of caramel, and very light roasted malt. Correct body strength, with a round mouthfeel; there is a quite strong caramel flavor, medium dry, but with a late trace of sweetness. Correct bitterness. Quite simple, but not bad.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Grima (1573) - Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - JUN 21, 2011
The smell is very malty and sweet, fruity with slightly smoky peaty flavor. Starts very intense, a strong malt aroma, paired with roasted flavors, with a fruity sweetness in the background. Malty-bitter aftertaste. Goes into a nutty and roasted-malty finish!
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Koelschtrinker (7060) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUN 19, 2011
Minimaler Malzgeruch.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 asheft (2072) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 2, 2010
[bottle at brewery]
Grainy bread crust aroma that is sweet and with a little cardboard. Clear, orange-amber under a thin, off-white cover. Nutty sweet grain flavour with a little pumpernickel bread crust. Moderate bitterness. Medium body, moderate carbonation, nutty bitter finish.
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 kappldav123 (3292) - Markkleeberg, GERMANY - MAR 14, 2010
The bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass dark brown, almost no head. Starts strong, malty and sweet, not too roasty. Fruity notes of plum. Finish is weaker, not as intense as the beginning. Starts wonderful with an awesome complex-malty aroma, finish is too weak. Still a good beer!
