Bottle. Bronze with a medium head. Low caronation and well bottled. Slightly fruity with some bitterness.For some reason I expected a run of the mill bitter but what I got was much better than this. Rather nice.

[ Vintage BBF 1205 ]. Clear medium yellow amber colour with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, oxidide, cardboard, caramel, plum - dried fruit notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, oxidide - cardboard, caramel, dried fruit. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20110801]

Bottled. Golden colour, small head. Aroma is fruits, wood, some mild caramelly and earthy notes as well. Flavour is malty, nutty and quite bitter fruity and wooden notes as well. Well balanced.

Cask at The Great Western Hotel, Exeter. A dark golden beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes of plums, caramel, and a bit of spices. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, toffee, and a a bit of bread, leading to a soft finish.
