3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 JorisPPattyn (6728) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - AUG 23, 2009
Good thick yellowish head, leaving lace over deep-brown beer with red highlights. Sourish nose, lactic with molasses, and wood. Faint bitter-sour and sweet, giving it a nice balance. Retronasal liquorice. Main problem with this beer is its watery texture; faint gristslickness, but thin. Not special, but quite drinkable. Brewed in reality (under licence) in Germany by Anker Brauerei Nagold
0.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 1/20 MiP (11783) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - DEC 30, 2008
Bottle, 5.2%. Vinous and spicy aroma. Clear dark brown colour. Bad metal flavour, like all beers from the crappy Haus der 131 Biere.
2.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20 yespr (22204) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - DEC 30, 2008
33 cL bottle. Pours dark brown to redish with a small tan head. Dry malty and slight spiced aroma. Acidic and malty flavoured, light roasted flavoured with a distinct metallic note and bitterness showing through. Ends dry and metallic. Vague fruity note. Way to metallic for my liking.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 ogivlado (4444) - Zagreb, CROATIA - AUG 28, 2007

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 Maria (8579) - Thisted, DENMARK - APR 1, 2007
The label is nice, but that’s about the only nice thing I can say about this beer. Oh yes, it does have a nice black/brown color and an OK head. Both aroma and flavour is very thin. The aroma has a weak chocolate note and the flavour is incredibly watery with weak notes of roasted malt - extremely boring...
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 rsmeds (228) - Turku, FINLAND - MAR 20, 2007
Ahh, Haus der 131 Biere, what would the world of beer be without your bizarre contributions?
Bottle. (As if these things came in any other form...)
Very dark brown colour, beige head.
Semisweet roasted malt aroma.
Ditto for flavor, with a hint of coffee and something... entirely different that I won’t even try to put my finger on.
I do like the huge Australian flag on the label trying, desperately, to make me believe this thing actually comes from down under. Nice try. The beer itself isn’t entirely bad, though.
