Bottled, pasteurised, 500ml. Orange amber with short lived head. Looked like lemonade in the glass with so much carbonation, this has a grassy grainy flavour with a perfume nose. Some hops on the finish but not to my taste.

A Mes rate: Reasonably impressed with this. Being endorsed by Tesco is hardly a passport to greatness but it’s not bad at all. Creamy aroma with coriander and honey. Decent golden body but what little head there was died in seconds. Flavour is really rather good. Hoppy and floral as you would expect but there are dusky citric notes too. Big dump of hops at the finish that eventually mellows out to a pleasing creamy lemon aftertaste. Palate is a little thin (maybe a 2) Jolly nice overal.

Another decent beer for xmas from tesco, i suppose all that asking must have been listened too after all. Aroma of citrus hops which goes floural at times. Taste is also reasonably hopy but quite well balanced also. Bitter finish which does get a bit annoying after a while.

Cask conditioned at the Lambton Worm (JDW), Sunderland. Golden colour, no head, little lacing. Moderate citrussy aroma. Light bodied. Pineapple and grapefruit in the flavour. Quite nice, but unfortunately a bit too sweet to be a definite favourite of mine.

Bottle. Bronze beer with a light bubbly head. The aroma is very dry and slightly toffee, and the flavour is also deeply dry, slightly caramel with an added vinous quality. Overall a nice but slightly disappointing beer.

Bottle from Tesco. Very short-lasting head and attractive golden colour. Pleasant sweet and sour taste and satisfactorily bitter. Not a bad beer.

rauchbier (3587) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - FEB 14, 2007
Bottle, from Tesco. Gold, thin but lasting white head and moderate condition. Initial piney hop and gapefruity citrus notes in the nose but becoming sweet and honeyed, solid spicy earthiness in the mouth with a gentle citrus hoppiness and a balancing sweetness. Earthy bitter finish with some remaining honey sweetness.
