3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 leaparsons (6324) - Leicester, - JAN 13, 2006
Cask, Derby Winter Fest 06. Black and purple with a beige head. Aromas are earthy, sweet roast coffee. Coffee rules here and its good coffee. Flavours are roast coffee malts that are somehow both bitter and refreshing. Sweet and malty then slips into more bitterness towards the finish. Very good indeed.

Cask conditioned - handpump - Derby Winterfest 07. A black coloured beer with a beige thin head. The aroma has loads of roasty coffee notes. The taste is more of the same: very roasty and absolutley full of coffee. I don’t like coffee but this really works. Very very tasty and moreish.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 RichardGretton (3759) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - JAN 11, 2006
Cask@2006 Derby Winter Beer Festival. Dark beer with a light head. The aroma is sweet milky coffee and the flavour is coffee bean bitterness with a watery edge. Overall an average stout.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 kook (2033) - Perth, Western Australia, AUSTRALIA - NOV 4, 2004
Huge coffee aroma. No Head. Black. Sweet start with coffee completely dominating the mid. Finish is bitter, burnt and dry. Oily meal feel. Nice stuff.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 chriso (7065) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 12, 2004
This must have coffee added to the brew. Massive coffee essence burst in the aroma. Oily and viscous texture. Bittersweet flavour, with a touch of chocolate and burnt malt, but its all about the coffee really. Rather similar to Dark Star’s Espresso Stout. Some people find these in yer face, coffee dominated stouts to be a bit brash, but I like them. Cask (gravity dispense), St Albans Beer Festival.
