Draft to snifter. Looks good for the style; a slightly translucent dark amberish brown with off-white head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells malty with notes of toffee and toast. Tastes like it smells, but richer, with some dark fruit as well. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied. Solid beer.

On tap at the Pint Room. Pour a dark copper color with an off-white head. Aroma and taste of smoky caramel and malt.

on tap @ Big Dawg / Richmond IN --- Clear dark ruby brown, good tan head cover, thin strands of lace. Taste is solid smoky roasted malt that turns a little sweet in the palate before adding light bitters to finish. One is quite enough, but that one is most excellent.

Tap. Poured clear dark brown color with an average frothy tan head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Solid smooth toasted caramel and earthy aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium toasted sweet flavor with a medium smooth sweet finish of moderate duration. Solid brew.

Draft. Chocolate toffee malt aroma. Brown with large tan head. Sweet toffee malt and moderately bitter herbal flavor. Nice body. Good.

Tap at source: Pours nearly black with red highlights.... Scent is coffee, roast.... Taste is coffee, licorice and light ash. Nice hop bitter with alcohol well hidden.... More like a stout, but very good regardless of pedigree.
