Commercial Description:
Gambrinus is the legendary 13th Century patron saint of beer and beer brewing. To celebrate St. Gambrinus Day on August 11, 2007, Das Bierhaus brewed this hearty blonde dopplebock just for this occassion.

Growler courtesy of Skyview. The beer was golden with very little foam. Not a typical blonde dopplebock. The sweet caramel malt that one would expect to taste is barely present. I think my rating would improve if I got to try this on tap.

Sampler. Hazy gold. Light fruity and citrus aroma. Very sweet, almost too sweet for me. Different, solid.

This wasn’t even available on tap but the brewmaster was able to give us a generous free sample, as a bonus. Score! This pours a hazy yellow with a creamy pillowy head. Tangy lemongrass, along with some sweet buttery sugar flavor. I was pretty impressed with this brew. A very nice blonde doppel for sure.

Growler courtesy of Skyview. Pours a deep golden color. Slightly biscuity sweetness on the nose with a touch of an almost earthy hoppiness. Fairly simple and sweet with a lack of depth. Not their best beer.

From a growler. I am disapointed in this beer and it is the weakest I have had from this brewery. A gold doppelbock. Light caramel and grass aroma Low carbonation, just a little sweet and malty. Not really hearty but seems thin and more like a strong lager than a bock.
