Draught at the brewpub. The beer was a light caramel brown color. I got a lot of caramel malt in the aroma and flavor. It was a very bock-ish Oktoberfest beer.
Guerde (489), Welcome, Minnesota, USA Oct 13, 2007 (growler, thanks Skyview) Pours dark copper with an off-white head. Grainy aroma, with some caramel malt in there as well. Flavor is caramel, slight hops, with a grainy finish. Medium bodied, pretty good stuff. joebrew (608), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Oct 8, 2007 Growler courtesy of Skyview. Pours a nice deep reddish brown. Nice sweet malt on the nose with a touch of floral and roasted biscuity sweetness. Nice medium body with a nice dose of the roasted malt and honey like malt sweetness. A solid beer, as I have come to expect from these guys. OSLO (614), Minnesota, USA Oct 6, 2007 [Growler, courtesy of Skyview] Pours dark reddish amber. Aroma is grainy with some caramel. Taste is Medium-light mouthfeel. Taste is very similar to the aroma with a lot more of the roasted grain taste and some muted hops. Long finish. My first Das Bierhaus beer, and it was a pretty good one. BDR (1883), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Oct 4, 2007 A murky brown color with lightly roasted malt on the nose with some caramel. Caramel and roasted malt flavor with the usual mineral/earthiness from the water that helps make such wonderful beer. Sweet body. On tap at the brewery.
