beastiefan2k (1590), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA Sep 6, 2009 First a sampler than a full pour in a large ass footed pilsner glass. It is a completely full thick golden color, cannot see through it. Has a firm thick head on top. As the head fades a thick insulation-like foam sticks around and covers the surface. A pretty damn attractive beer. Aroma is a very thick lacto/milky-like maltiness and not just the standard white bread maltiness; thick, strong, original, and interesting. The flavor is similar but it is balanced by some zing from the hops. Has a long sweet, non-sugary aftertaste with a hint of non-citric lemon. It is very easy drinking despite having a thick, full body. It is a "big" pils without being the Americanized version of "big." I would go out of my way to drink this again. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA Sep 1, 2009 Growler via Mys Swap 4 (thanks skyview!!).
Pours a hazy amber with a nice large white head. Nose is earthy/spicy. Taste is biscuits, grass, toast, mild fruit. Body is medium, carbonation is perfect. This is very very very tasty. I could drink this all day every day. Mmmmmmmmm, i am speechless. The flavors meld together perfectly. Tis a master brewer who can make a Pils that is so far above the rest. phishpond417 (1861), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Aug 3, 2009 I find myself enjoying this style more and more, ecspecially when it’s a well made pils. Clear golden, thin white top. Grain and slight corn on the nose- this time thta doesn’t turn me off. Taste has the grassiness and firm astringent hop character that i expected. But well balanced, not too grainy. Just right. Slightly dry. Tripplebrew (470), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA Mar 9, 2009 Pours a clear lemon yellow with thin white head. Aroma is citrus yeast with bitter earthy notes. Flavor is earthy lemon. The tart lemon notes are offset by very dry notes. Body is light with high carbonation. WisconsinBeer (514), St Paul, Minnesota, USA Mar 2, 2009 Tap. Pours a very pale slightly hazy yellow. Minimal head. Flavor is crisp Euro malt followed by tangy, slightly peppery German/Czech hops. Finish is clean and dry. Light bodied. grimreeser (795), Minnesota, USA Aug 14, 2008 Sampler. Cloudy gold, nice lacing. Nice aroma of earthy hops with a bit of grains and lemon as well. Nice solid bitterness, but not too much. Excellent pilsner. tennisjoel (931), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA Aug 10, 2008 Yep. This is what a pilsner should be. Unfiltered, ample bitterness, good hoppiness. Served at a little warmer temp than I’d like, but that is about the only negative thing I can say about this beer. World Class within the style. Very nice job Das Bierhaus! Baumgartner (108), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA Jul 3, 2008 July 2nd, 2008 Sample platter. A very crisp aroma of straw with a light piney hop. The brew was a medium yellow, almost clear and a small off white head. Slightly sweet with a moderate bitter after taste.
