Draught at the brewpub. The beer was dark brown with a small amount of foam. In the flavor and aroma I got burnt malt/caramel malt along with some alcohol.

Tap at Das Bierhaus on Nov. 18, 2011. Renamed to Slam Dunkel. Hazy deep amber pour with a white head. Sour cherry elements along with caramel malt. Nice dunkel.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 madvike (1477) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 25, 2010
On tap at the brewpub - Pours dark cola with a foamy tan head. Sweet breadiness on the nose, with a touch of honey and dark chocolate. Big, rich and malty flavor, nutty, with a bit of caramel and a kiss of hops on the finish. Really creamy, but slightly watery in the mouth. Not as good as the pilsener that I had before it, but solid nonetheless.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 phishpond417 (2089) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 3, 2009
Sampled on draught: Poured a sort of murky brown. I love how the beers are unfilitered leaving tons of crap floating around. Aroma was again sort of sour, but a pleasent sour reminiscent to tart cherry. Taste was a bit tart with soft spice mid way through the palate. Finishes long and satisfying.

Pours a brown sugar amber with very light head. Aroma is almond/hazelnut with vanilla nuts. Flavor is nutty fruit and hops (citrus notes). Body is creamy light with mild carbonation.

July 2nd, 2008 Sample platter. Roasted, almost nutty aroma with a hint of smoke. Creamy head atop a hazy brown brew. Light smokey taste with a even lighter bitter finish. Excellent balance. Medium bodied. True to style. Another great beer from Das Bierhaus.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 CaptainCougar (6834) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - NOV 18, 2007
On tap at the brewpub on 6/22/07: Pours a hazy dark copper mahogany with a nicely-lacing white head. Aroma of dark caramely sweet malt with a light noble hoppy presence. Body starts fairly full and dark malty sweet with a touch of earthiness and noble bittering hops toward a smooth caramely finish. A nice dunkel.
