2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 fiulijn (10383) - Como, - JAN 11, 2010
Tasting at Papsø’s Cloudy amber color. Aroma of vegetables and cabbage. Weak and dry mouthfeel, some vegetables, quite nasty, lightly herbal but not really pine trees... Very bad.

probably one of the best of Mandrin’s brewery. I had this one several years ago. I will complete when I’ll drink it again.

Bottle at Churchkey, tasted side by side with the Noix. This one had maybe a bit of pine aroma if I use my imagination, but the taste is green apple skins. Interesting.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 ryan (3068) - Beltsville, Maryland, USA - AUG 14, 2010
Sweet malty nose, some caramel and a definite citrus/resinous note which I guess is fir mandrin. Lightly tart, lightly sweet taste, light acetic acid, but it’s very mild. Finishes with a good dose of citrus. Quite nice. Glad I didn’t get a bottle from the prior batch.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 EricE (1288) - Fairfax, Virginia, USA - AUG 14, 2010
Bottle shared by ryan. Pours a hazy orange-yellow with a nice light tan head. Flowery fruity aroma with notes of apple, tropical fruit and citrus. Some must and funk. Flavor is moderately sweet, with spice, maybe coriander. Fruity with citrus and pineapple. Slight tartness with a bitter orange peel finish. Interesting beer. Slightly medicinal and the sweetness was a bit much for me, but otherwise a good beer.

330mL stubby bottle in mini-Duvel tulip. Now this is an interesting beer, as the commercial description says, its a sweet beer with a spice. Well that is exactly what one gets. The beer has a sugary sweetness mixed with a orange yeast character and then a spice, its not spruce, it’s spruce-like... so its fir. It pours a cloudy orange-amber color with a medium head that fades at a normal pace. The fir does not offset the sweetness, its all just mixed together. I am not in love with the beer but I like what the brewer did, original and interesting. BB October 2010, batch #344.
