2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 berkshirejohn (3016) - Bracknell, - APR 8, 2010
Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Straw coloured with a thin white head; weak citrus aroma; thin and grainy body with some grapefruit flavour and a sweetish finish. A rather feeble attempt at the style.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - JAN 9, 2012
Tasted this in the Last Post, Paisley (JDW) in April 2010. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear gold in colour with a thick white head. Strong
tropical fruit salad note in the juicy aroma. Creamy smooth mouthfeel and good lacing throughout. Pale malt base delivers a peaches & cream flavour almost like Harviestoun Ptarmigan 85/ with hints of toffee and bananas. There is no citric fruit notes in this. Slight hint of floral hops in the brief aftertaste. Finish is sweet and fruity with peach melba notes really evident. Starts to fade quickly though. A decent session Golden ale and well recommended.

Hand pulled cask at the Moon and Sixpence (JDW) Hatch End. Amber gold with a thick white collar. Clean biscuit malt with good balancing hops. Unspectacular but the best I’ve tried under under the revived Davenports label.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 DruncanVeasey (5147) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - APR 13, 2010
The baron, Hinckley. Golden amber with a spotting white slick. Negligible rub of old hop and caramel aroma. Still as squash with very little discernible flavour, not even the usual Highgate sugary stuff; dribble of watered down citrus, maybe pear and caramel. Totally passed me by. Pretty bad.

Cask @ Counting House, JDW. Hazy golden colour, dense white head. Aroma is citric hops. Flavour is hoppy, citrus, fairly bitter, soft malts. Well drinkable. Finishes with some strange sourness.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 hughie (3992) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - APR 11, 2010
Cask at Pilgrim’s Progress (JDW), Bedford, in Spoons Spring Festival ’10. Gold. Sweet malty aroma with hints of pineapple. Rather dull muddled taste, but ultimately it’s rather satisfying beer ordinaire. Some bitterness. Quite liked this. It reminded me of beers I drank long ago.
