Clear golden with a short foam head. Perfumed with some peaches and oranges in the scent. My notes describe the mouthfeel as ’smooth but empty’. Hint of bitterness with a slight dry end. Not very much at all in the mouth: just a bit of biscuit maltiness. Very boring.

I had a pint of this beer at the Sports man in Harborne yesterday. This beer has gone from strength to strength. The thick creamy head remained in the glass to the last drop. After i finished my pint, it felt like i had eaten a grapefruit.

Warning! Early amateur rating! A fairly mild and somewhat watery IPA - a bit too Green King like.

Cask@Criterion, Leicester. Golden beer with a lightly hopped aroma and a standard bitter flavour. Overall an average watery and hopped beer.

Cask at Penderels Oak in London. Dark gold with awhite head, lots of floral hops on the nose, flavour is a good balance of sweet malt and bitter, with notes of peach, lemon and cornflakes, and a good bitter finish. A nice lighter-bodied best bitter.

Handpulled cask at JDW Hatch End, Harrow. Gold with a good thick white head in fine fresh condition. Unfortunately the flavour was a let down. This makes GK IPA seem flavoursome. One of the blandest bitters I’ve ever tried. An insult to the name of a brewer who’s beers I enjoyed back in the 80’s.

Cask at steam railway, Swindon. Golden bitter with thin head. Solvent nose. Predominant flavour of honey and biscuit. thin in the mouth. im not sure how fresh it was but the hops had all but disappeared.

Cask handpull at Penderal’s Oak, JDW, London. Gold with thin bubbly white head. It’s a golden bitter with decent citrus finish. Really quite drying on the finish, more than most bitters. Bit of yeast. Good lemony finish

Wetherspoon Festival, Nov 2007. JDW, Rochester. Not an exciting selection, but I love the idea of having 3 1/3 pints for the same price as a pint, and having the glasses marked with the special marker to show the number of the beer. This is a nice beer with Fuggles and Mount Hood hops. A soft session bitter, very drinkable. Juicy sweet, then a lovely dose of dusty hops in the finish. Chalky dry in the middle. Nice one.

Cask @ The Mansion, Gipsy Hill ,London. Nose of sulphur, citurs and metal. Pours a light amber colour beer. taste of citrus, grapefruit, some hops and malt. Quite pleasant if a little simple. Bitter and thin in the finish. Not bad.

Cobber of color with a white head. An aroma with bisquit, hops, flowers and grass notes. A flavor with corn, hops and citrus.
