2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 wheresthepath (1087) - - NOV 5, 2009
[Cask at the Back of Beyond, Reading] Hazy yellow, no head. Vague citrus and light malts. Very dull.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - JAN 9, 2012
Tasted this in The Last Post, Paisley (JDW) in April 2009. Cask, handpump dispense. Crystal clear pale straw in colour with pale green tints around the edges and a thin white head. Distinct cereal wheaty note in the short aroma. Thin resiny mouthfeel and poor lacing. Pale malt gives a lager base with sparkling grapefruit flavours. Bitter hop resins give a note of dried grass in the short aftertaste. Slightly sour fruit note appears in the weak finish. Not that impressed with this and not in the same league as Harviestoun Schiehallion for example. One to avoid.

cask at JDW ... yellow ... creamy small white head ... light fruit hop ... soft mellow lemon ... quite dull ... lacking flavour ...
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 harrisoni (10070) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - DEC 13, 2009
Cask handpull at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Gold clear cask lager. Not the greatest beer in the world. Lacks condition and freshness. No horrible flavours as it lacks most flavours. Pretty awful.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 DonMagi (5599) - bantervile, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - DEC 3, 2009
Cask in the Alfread herring. Alround rating: Pale caramel sweet malt, a bit buttery, little grassy hop, but its on the sweetside of balance and fairly boring.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 imdownthepub (7473) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - NOV 26, 2009
Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Pale gold / straw with white head. little aroma due to the fact that it was freezing cold. Thin, light lagery notes, pleasant enough if you enjoy bland beer, almost artificially sweet, but then a grainy, cereal note forces through to make it drinkable and a touch of tangy hop finish. Saved in the last few minutes.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 DJMonarch (9152) - Northwich, Cheshire, ENGLAND - NOV 24, 2009
Cask Handpump at the Penny Black JDW, Northwich 31/10/2009
Malt and hop aromas. Golden coloured a little dry and malty with a crisp and slightly bitter finish.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 MesandSim (7109) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 24, 2009
A Mes rate. Cask at Baker Street ’Sporks. My god this is uneventful. It’s one of those beers that make me wonder why I bother. Not close to good enough to finish drinking, not bad enough to have a real laugh at. Just a shining example of British mediocrity. Yes it’s a cask lager. Too sweet to do what it needs too and not enough character to get anyone to move from macro keg lager. Not that this isn’t better. I just dont see the point. No sign of any Hallertau, nor anything else to find interesting. NEXT!

Blonde cask lager, mild and slightly dry, straw like flavour, mini hops, not much else. A little dull but drinkable.
1.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 bobinlondon (1179) - Harrow, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 15, 2009
Handpulled cask at JDW Watford. Gold with thin white head. A good example of why keg lagers often taste better than cask. Stale, flat and diactyl laden.
2.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 SilkTork (4736) - Rochester, Kent, United Kingdom, WALES - NOV 12, 2009
JDW Rochester. Clean drinkable beer. Quite dry with a faint jammy sweetness. OK.
