Handpulled cask at the Southern Cross, Watford. Pale gold with a white head. Very malty and sweet with little balancing bitterness. Pretty dull really.

tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - JAN 9, 2012
Tasted this inTennent’s Bar, Glasgow in November 2008. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear tawny in colour with a thin white head. Slight hint of roast malt in the short aroma. Thin resiny mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malt base gives a roasted grain note at the start which soon fades to a digestive biscuit base with pomegranate fruit flavours. Dry hop resins give a dusty aftertaste. Finish is slightly sweet with burnt caramel notes coming through. An ok session bitter but a bit on the bland side to be honest.

Rune (4924) - Tromsø, NORWAY - DEC 18, 2008
Cask, half pint served at The Criterion in St Andrews. The beer was not found to be in its best condition, but seemed to be rather stale. Dark amber body, lacing-head. Weak malt-fruity aroma. Hints of caramel malts in the flavour. Watery and creamy in the mouth [09.11.2008].

Cask-conditioned at the Bag ONails, Bristol 15/11/08. Deep amber with a slight, off-white head. Fruity, caramel aroma. Doughy, sweet malt flavour with red fruit and a short, bitter finish. Not particularly memorable.

[Cask at the Globe, Moorgate, London.] Copper with a thin white head leaving good lacing; damp grain aroma; cereal flavours with some sweet malts; assertive clinging bitter finish. Pleasant enough, but nothing special.

From cask at Tennents. Pours clear and golden orange with a small off-white head. Aroma is mild fruity and light malty. Flat malty flavoured with a light bitterness showing through. Yet nothing outstanding. Bitter and malty finish.
