Sweet stout with three different peppers, American lineage yeast, and American hops. Starts out with sweet malt, roast and chocolate malts that dry and then a subtle heat in the back of your throat.

Beautifully opaque, dark beer. The coffee sweetness is the first thing you taste. Then the heat lightly touches the roof of your mouth after a few sips.

Growler from Dave’s Brewfarm, pours a light cola/coffee color with a quickly fading tan head. Aroma of malt, chocolate and some peppers. Taste is all peppers, but the chocolate and malt tame it, lighter body, perfect heat finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured into my glass by some dude at Toppling Goliath. Black pour, nice roasted malts and some cocoa. Peppers are subtle at the end, which is good. Thick and creamy, very well done.

Dave’s BrewFarm, Mocha Diablo, chocolate and peppers, (3 of them)9.3% abv. In the brand new 1 Liter, swing top growler, filled sometime Saturday morning, being consumed Sunday night. Utter blackness, with a nice, tight cocoa-tinted head nestled on top. Aroma spins out chocolate in the atmosphere, before we even go close up. Let’s do that now...sweet, but mild, chocolate, with hot and spicy pepper flavors behind. Sweet and hot, with sweet on top. Taste: sweet cocoa on top, again, with rich, roasty stout below. Good hopping, mild bitterness lays long on the palate and in the back of the throat. Very smooth, no rough spots here. Spices start to show and intrude upon the profile, slowly, though. Heat is climbing, ever incrementally. Stay sweetish and roasty, moreover, with the pepper staying subtle on the side. Medium body, nearly full, with a strength that remains unobtrusive, until...wait, now it’s showing up...hoo daddy! I have to imagine some geeks might demand more heat, more fire, more punishment than this provides, but I think that doing everything to extremes misses the point. Sometimes subtlety is just right. Just a hint. A taste. A tickle. And this is a great brew where you get that. Way to go, Dave!

Nobody told me to expect peppers and you know what, I really didn’t notice. But that’s a good thing because it makes you just appreciate a beer as it is and it suggests that the flavors are subtle (but one could argue too subtle). Very smooth, chocolatey. Not especially thick. Brought by brewer to tasting at Ale Jail, St. Paul, MN.

Tasted at the Heritage Beer Geek Christmas, poured from Dave’s growler. Black. Aroma has roasted malt and chocolate. Flavor is sweet malt with a very mild heat at the end. A well done beer. Excellent palate, thick and heavy, very smooth feel. A little oily.

sampled at GTMW 2010... pours a deeper shade of a black and a fluffy large tan head... soft subtle chile and cocoa aroma... flavors were much of the same but with a predominance of heat coming from the chiles. enjoyed the aroma a little more.

On draught at the brew farm near Wilson, Wisconsin. Pours an opaque dark brown colored brew with a bright and heavy beige head that leaves behind some excellent lacing and terrific retention. Aroma of toasted dark malt, dark chocolate, floral and grassy hops and a hint of red bell peppers. Taste is medium bodied, some light metallic texture and then distinct green peppers as the temperature comes to room level. Finish has a nice balance between vegetable/pepper and chocolate malt aftertastes.
