4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 tiggmtl (4475) - Vancouver, - APR 27, 2004
Sweet caramel malt in the aroma with mild hops. Light, copper coloured body with lasting white head and good carbonation. Initial bitterness balanced by sweet caramel malt with lingering bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel is very creamy and full with medium-light body. Very refreshing and flavourful. On tap at the brewery.

Bland, mostly flavorless brew. Overly malty, metallic, soapy flavor. Had it as part of a sampler, and it tasted the same as most of the other beers on the rack. Poorly executed, clumsy attempt at an ESB.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Maverick34 (1417) - New York, USA - JUN 4, 2011
Pours a muddy medium brown. Not much head. Light caramel toffee aroma and taste. Thin consistency. Bitters. Ok but not amazing by any neans.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Capa (1633) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 29, 2011
Brown with a white head. Aroma is toasty malt, light molasses, and a bit of earthy hops. Flavor follows along the aroma with the malts really toning down the lightly grassy/earthy hops. Decent.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 ngeunit1 (814) - Mountain View, California, USA - MAY 23, 2011
A - Pours a rich amber-red color with a finger of off-white head atop. The head fades down to a thin ring around the glass leaving behind some lacing in the process.
S - Aroma is a mix of sweet caramel malts and some fruity aromas (cherry and apple). There is also some hops and some spices in the background.
T - Starts off with a mix of some sweet caramel malt and some light sweet fruit flavors. Though the middle some citrus hops come through alongside some bitterness. The finish is a mix of caramel flavor and bit of bready malts that lingers nicely.
M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Very smooth and crisp with a nice mix of sweet and bitterness that lingers.
D - Very drinkable. The hop/malt balance is really nice and the touch of added fruity flavors mixes in well. Really smooth and feels refreshing.

Draft @ the brewpub. Clear amber-brown color. Aroma has strong grassy hops, a lot more than the style usually calls for. Some light tea aspects as well. Flavor is also a tea and grassy hops mix, the tea stronger here. Its an American ESB, and ASB.

Although very translucent, and golden in color, this beer is very alive with a good fizzy sensation that stays on the lips. The bitterness is well evident, but not overpowering, and has a very crisp finish. This is easily my favorite choice when it is available in the restaurant.

29.04.06 Tap at TAPNY. Another complete butter bomb from these folks. I understand that there can be a bit of diacetyl in an ESB, but this was just over the top. Anyway, a caramel colored beer looks promising beneath a sturdy white head. Aroma is, as noted, pungent with butter and less so with touches of cider/apple must. Some mild earthiness in the background. Slick on the palate. Terrible. I wish I had the version the Canadians were drinking.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Lubiere (6988) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 14, 2004
Darker golden beer. Malts and light hops with apples in aroma. Fresh crispy malts with flavourfull hops , not overbearing. Good bodied and well balanced.

Fervent fruitiness amongst healthy hop bitterness...Sensuous body of caramel malt countering the drying effect of the hops...A hearty piece of craftsmanship...
