3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 alexsdad06 (2344) - USA - JAN 2, 2010
12 oz. bottle from j12601. Pours a clear honey amber color with a small white head. The aroma is grainy malt with light citrus and earthy hops. The flavor is more grainy and bready malts showing mild sweetness with light citrus and earthy hops. There is the slightest hint of pine. Finish is moderately bitter and slightly dry. Overall, there was nothing bad about this beer, it was just lacking in character and the flavors could be more pronounced.
Rating #50 for this beer.

Poured on tap at the brewpub as part of a sampler. Came to table with almost no head, which disappeared within a minute. At first taste, had to check to make sure I was drinking the IPA. There is no hops aroma, and practically no hops taste whatsoever to this brew. It comes off malty, almost soapy tasting. Worst attempt at an IPA I’ve ever had from a supposedly "professional" brewer. Most homebrew IPA’s I’ve tasted were much better.

I seriously did not believe that I was drinking an IPA when I tasted this beer. The cascade hops aren’t present and it has a more amber color. My first taste was a crappy amber ale and even had a taste similar to lagers such as Bud ...just with more alcohol. Honestly, if you love American style IPA’s you probably won’t like this. Just wasted 10$

Davidson’s IPA isn’t what you expect when you think IPA. It looks and smells as it should, with a nice bouquet of hops and spice in the nose, but when you sip it, that changes. There isn’t any dominant hops or spice in the flavor; it almost seems like they forgot a late hop addition. It tastes like a malty pale/60 shilling.

My first beer from this brewery. Clear copper color, small white head. Light fruity and resiny nose. Medium-bodied. Berryish, semi-sweet fruity flavor. Flowery hoppyness. Sweetish IPA.

Tap at Parting Call in Saratoga w Andy and PJ. Pours dark amber w off-white head. Aroma is lively but a little skunky. Palate is dry, boozey, and has a tinge of skunky licorice. Not great. Not a lot of balance or even bitterness. Kind of weird, but interesting I guess.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 bbbeer (232) - Massachusetts, USA - SEP 5, 2011
Brownish orange, small head. Aroma has some hops, not too powerful, some malt. Medium body. Some soap-like hops and citrus but malt is more prominent. Not really that bitter. Not too exciting.

A gift from a friend. I have not ever heard of the brewer. +++Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright golden color with an enormous foamy orange-white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was butterscotch, caramel and light vague fruity hops. The flavor was butter, butterscotch and caramel with light fruity hops underneath. The finish was short and fruity with lingering butterscotch. Medium body. Eh.

during july 4th at the lake. Medium bodied, decent ipa... could be much hoppier.. kinda malty.

12 oz. bottle. Label reads "Hand crafted for Davidson Bros Brewing, Inc. Glens Falls, NY by Shipyard Brewing Company, LLC, Portland, ME." Pours a mostly clear gold with a moderate yellow-white head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left partial lace. Pleasant aroma (albeit a bit light for an IPA) of fruity orange and grapefruit. The flavor is predominantly malt with some biscuit flavor. Dries out at the finish. Mild-moderate bitterness but no real hops flavor to speak of. The hops are a bit restrained, even for an English IPA.

A - Pours a clear amber-golden color, with some fluffy white head (about a finger and a half) and okay retention, with some lacing left behind.
S - The aroma is full of hops with some slight citrus notes.
T - Starts off with some light malt taste, and this is joined by some light hop flavor, but it never gets very strong. The aftertaste is of the hops and is just slightly bitter.
M - Medium bodied and a nice tingle of carbonation keeps the beer smooth and crisp. Maybe a tiny bit watery.
D - Very drinkable. The flavors are there, they just stay a bit subtle and are not overpowering. It is a crisp and refreshing drink, just could have used a bit more flavor overall.
