Pleasant smooth flavor and profile, rich but not grainy. Flavorful roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, and oats are prevalent, with low hop flavor and aroma.

Good at what it is: an honest rendition of the style without defaults nor stand outs. Fairly mild, but still packing a decent roastiness like burnt chocolate, an almost black body, the typical nitro appearance and obvious oats while having a creamy medium body. Lovers of the style will certainly appreciate this.

Growler. Pours dark red, dark brown in the glass, with a small tan head. Aromas of coffee, raisin, chocolate and some cherry, and mildly tart fruit. The flavor is slightly bitter cocoa and earthy bitterness, sweet chocolate, and mocha. Creamy, with low carbonation and a dry finish. Pretty good. [818]

On nitro tap at the brewpub. Pours black with a thick foamy tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, lactose, light chocolate. Flavor of roasted malt, light char/burnt malt, bitter chocolate. This is a decent oatmeal stout, drinkable but nothing special. Smooth nitro mouthfeel. 6/4/7/4/14 (3.5/5)

Almost black, little hazy, off-white dense head. Roasted malt with some sweetness in the nose. Roasty and burnt, more robust than their porter. Hint of oiliness in palate.

[Backlog 2013.] Draft at Pony with Linh. Pours a deep blackish brown body with nice off white head. Aroma is deep roast, roasted malt and bitter cocoa. Mouthfeel is medium with notes of roast, light coffee, bitter chocolate and oat.

Black body with a long-lasting medium tan head. Roasted nose. Taste has a lot of roasted grainy malts followed by a medium amount grassy hops and a light citric touch. Not much to report in terms of chocolate/coffee/fruity flavours. The floury yeast and the roastiness blend together and leave a somewhat dry impression. Pleasant average generic brewpub stout. Incidentally the brewpub also makes a truly amazing stout-cheddar soup. The cheese probably has most to do with it.
