dirtymike (2019), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Apr 12, 2005 Golden in color with a small white head. Malt aroma with sublte fruit esters. Toasted malt flavor with mild butter note. Aurelius (2507), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Dec 16, 2003 Butter, honey, diacetyl aroma. Intense gold clear beer, decent label. A lot of the same character as their IPA. Honey-cakey flavors, lightly sweet, moderately tart, some fruitiness. Hopping kicks in towards the finish. Good viscosity, with the finish growing hoppier and tarter all the time. A little astringency at the very end. PorterPounder (2850), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Dec 16, 2003 Tastes like a Bit-O-Honey candy bar. Light, translucent appearance with a cloudy white head. Sweet, candy-like aroma. Has some of the same candy-sweet elements that some Belgians have. Quite refreshing - finishes strong. Very unique take on a blond ale. Vac (2253), San Diego, California, USA Nov 7, 2003 The body of this beer is a clear gold and is topped by a medium thick, white, quickly disappearing head with some lace left behind. The aroma is slightly sweet and malty with a touch of bitterness and a slight fruitiness. The flavor is very similar to the nose with a little more fruitiness showing through. Light to medium bodied, relatively smooth and a touch dry. austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA Nov 13, 2003 A sweet, herbal beer that is NOT all that terrible. Fairly flavorful for a blond ale and the hops are mild and appropriate for the style. An easy-drinking, sweet, lightly malted ale with just enough herbal and hop bite to keep you from getting bored. Balanced.
